This is Milt Larson, the founder of the world famous Magic Castle in Hollywood. We had a great interview with him. He recalled organizing a show in the late 1950s which included an illusionest named Robert Gurtler – now known as Andre Kole.

On this trip we also interviewed:

David Mendoza – an illusion builder who got started by building props for Andre back in the early 80s. Now he builds set pieces for Hollywood productions (Grammys, Country Awards, etc.) Super Bowl half-time shows and music concerts including Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood, Enrique Iglesias, Reba McEntire, Michael Jackson.

James Randi – Founder and past president of the James Randi Educational Foundation. It’s purpose is to promote critical thinking by reaching out to the public and media with reliable information about paranormal and supernatural ideas so widespread in our society today. James is a kindrid spirit with Andre on this subject – but they have extremely different world views.

Pop Haydn – An award winning comedy magician in the loveable character of a 19th century medicine man. He has studied to be an Episcopal minister and enjoys philosophising and debating the existence of God.

Bruce Gold – A clean, clever, comedy magician. You may know him from this CLIO award winning commercial – Birthday Party Magician

Murry SawChuck – A celeberty magican and host of Pawn Stars. Maybe you saw him vanish a 1918 steam train on America’s Got Talent last year.

Franz Harary – The megamagician who vanished the space shuttle on NBC’s The World’s Greatest Magic. As part of Michael Jackson’s Victory tour, Franz made Jackson levitate and disappear on one side of the stage to reappear with his brothers on the other side. He has designed illusions for other music acts including: Cher, Snoop Dog, Usher, Boyz II Men, Queen Latifah, Hammer, Tina Turner and Reba McEntire.

David Sandy – Past International President of the International Brotherhood of Magicians, the world’s largest and most prestigious organization for magicians with nearly 14,000 members worldwide. He is also an Honorary Lifetime member of the Academy of Magical Arts (The Magic Castle) in Hollywood, Calif. Additionally, as one of Andre Kole’s biggest fans, he has hosted Andre’s program on multipal occasions.
